2. To help take forward the development and implementation of European and UK maritime policy in relation to Wales, in particular a framework for the management of the seas, and policy on integrated coastal zone planning and management.

3. To advise on and facilitate the development and co-ordination of national, regional and local policies for Welsh coastal areas and maritime waters and to complement existing consultation mechanisms.

4. To facilitate and support the integrated management and use of the Welsh coastal areas and maritime waters by providing a forum for dialogue, partnership building, information and good practice dissemination and exchange.

5. To co-operate with and support partner members and other national and regional coastal fora.

6. To identify gaps and add value to existing research activity on coastal and maritime issues.
